Bityew Privacy Policy

Welcome to Bityew! This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your information when using our services. The security and privacy of our users' data are fundamental to us, especially in our commitment to a zero-knowledge approach.

1. Information Collected

1.1 Technical Information

We collect basic technical data, including IP address, device information, and login time. This data is used solely for security and account management purposes and does not include information about the content of your account, such as emails, passwords, or stored files.

1.2 Personal Information Stored in an Encrypted Format

All personal data you store in our services, including emails, contacts, notes, passwords, and files, are encrypted using our zero-knowledge policy. This means that Bityew does not have access to the unencrypted content of your personal data.

2. Account Protection and Recovery

2.1 Bityew Protection (Optional)

Bityew offers the option to enable Bityew Protection, an optional feature that stores an encrypted version of your master key. If the password is lost, this key can be recovered through this system. Important: Disabling Bityew Protection will remove all information linked to your master key from our systems, preventing any possibility of recovery, even by legal order.

2.2 Account Recovery with Bityew Protection

If you lose access to your account, the recovery process varies based on your ability to access the associated email:

Case 1: If the email is accessible:

  1. Receiving Recovery Emails: You will receive two emails at intervals of 1 hour. Each email contains a code and a recovery link with a validity of 24 hours.
  2. Procedure:
    1. First Email (Alpha Code): Click the link and enter the Alpha code received. After clicking "Confirm," you will receive a success notification and a second code will be sent.
    2. Second Email (Beta Code): Click the link from the second email and enter the Beta code. After confirmation, you will receive another email for the final step.
  3. Conclusion: In the third email, enter both the Alpha Code and the Beta Code in the requested field. If both are correct, you will have access to the field to reset your password.

Case 2: If the email is not accessible:

  1. Temporary Email Protocol: Create a temporary email using a common domain (like Gmail, Yahoo, etc.) as specified: bityew.com.firstname.surname.0@domain.com. If the names are long, use only the first five letters of the first and last name. The number at the end can be changed in case of conflicts with existing accounts.
  2. Sending Documentation: Send an email from the temporary address to recovery@bityew.com containing:
    1. Your full name, country of residence, and original email associated with the Bityew account.
    2. Links to documents and videos in the format:
      • ID Front: URL
      • ID Back: URL
      • Passport Front: URL
      • Passport Back: URL
      • SELF Video #1: URL
      • SELF Video #2: URL
Note: Do not attach documents or videos directly in the email. All verification information must be sent via links as instructed.
  3. Verification and Response: The Bityew support team will respond to your email if the information is valid or request additional data if necessary. If the documentation is complete and correct, we will send you an email with the Alpha and Beta Codes and a link for account replacement, following a similar procedure to that of recovery with an accessible email.

3. Information Sharing

We do not share your personal information with third parties, except in compliance with applicable laws or with your explicit consent.

Special Note on Bityew Protection
When Bityew Protection is enabled, Bityew has the capability to decrypt the master key under legal order. However, by disabling Bityew Protection, no data linked to the master key can be accessed by our team, ensuring that no one other than the user will have access to the encrypted data.

4. Payment Systems and Financial Data

4.1 Payment Data

We use secure third-party platforms to process payments and do not store financial information on our servers. We only retain minimal information for subscription and service management.

4.2 Subscriptions and Billing

Subscription and billing information is processed securely and is accessible solely for customer service and account management purposes.

5. User Rights

5.1 Access and Modification of Data

You can access and modify your personal information directly in your Bityew account at any time.

5.2 Right to be Forgotten

If you wish to close your account and permanently delete your information, please contact support. Deletion is irreversible and cannot be undone.

5.3 Source Code Viewing

For corporate accounts, we offer the option for controlled auditing of the Bityew source code, allowing security review under specific conditions. This viewing is temporary (7 days) and allows for code analysis without permission to copy, redistribute, or expose the content.

6. Changes to this Policy

This policy may be updated periodically. We will notify our users of significant changes through appropriate channels.

This policy has been developed to ensure transparency and a commitment to the privacy of our users. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.
